Actually this fanpage is accused of collecting funds illegally in the name of the band. The revelation came after pictures of a Jeju Air customized plane with pictures of BTS member Jimin went viral on social media, which has been claimed to be funded by the same fanpage. According to the report, this customized plane was planned by Fanclub for Jimin’s 26th birthday celebration in October.

After the arrival of these photos of the plane, it was criticized a lot. Following the criticism, the fanpage issued a statement urging fans to choose celebrities wisely for a good and beneficial digital environment. On the other hand, Weibo made a statement on Sunday that the fanpage has been banned for illegally depositing money.

Fanpage banned for 60 days

After this, this account of BTS Fan Club has been banned from posting anything for 60 days. This fanpage account has more than 1.1 million followers on Weibo. These accounts focused on Jimin, a member of the BTS band.

According to the official media Global Times, this fanpage started collecting funds for Jimin’s birthday from April. They raised over 1 million Yuan (approximately $ 150,000 / Rs. 1,13,22,914) in the first three minutes of the fund raising activity and 2.3 million Yuan (360,000 dollars / Rs. 2,60,43,099) in the first hour. The fan club had also planned to put advertisements in the American newspaper The New York Times on Jimin’s birthday.

It is known that this action on the fanpage has been taken amidst the ongoing campaign in China. This campaign has been started to clean the entertainment industry there and crack down on the ‘irrational behavior’ done by the fans.
